Unfortunately, there is not free shuttle that runs between the two points. LauderdaleThe Museum of Discovery and Science is a fun interactive science museum with an IMAX Theater. The Museum of Art on Las Olas Boulevard is small, but has a good collection of modern and contemporary art.

Fort Lauderdale cruises allow you to go full throttle on a Jet Ski®— or go parasailing high above the ocean. We recommend a rideshare service or taxi over a shuttle bus, though, especially in Fort Lauderdale, as the port is extremely close to the airport.

Taxis and ridesharing services are a quick and inexpensive options to travel between destinations, and most local trips cost less than $20. Many hotels also offer free shuttlers to and from the cruise port and the airport as well as major attractions. Terminal 1 is dedicated for ferry services to the Bahamas, while cruises use the port’s other passenger terminals. For example, Terminal 2 serves cruise ships operated by Princess Cruises. Fort Lauderdale has a big advantage over many other cruise ports in that it’s literally just a few minutes from the airport. If you are flying from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, you can get from the cruise port to the airport in 10 minutes.
Terminal 19Sitting on the south edge of Midport, Terminal 19 offers 1,300′ of berth and a cruise terminal that’s nearly 100,000 square feet. Given the location right next to Terminal 18, there’s also a good chance that one of the world’s largest cruise ships will be right next to your ship on cruise day. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, however, you may wish to stay closer to downtown Fort Lauderdale or the beach. This gives you time to explore the area and enjoy the city’s highlights before your cruise. Las Olas Boulevard is the main walkable street in Fort Lauderdale, offering plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars.

Port Everglades is conveniently located just 5 miles from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and 4 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale. We don’t recommend or discourage any of the following car services (we’ve never used them), but provide them as a starting point for you to see what’s available. However, if splitting the cost between four or more passengers, it can be surprisingly affordable. Rates for Uber/Lyft from the Fort Lauderdale airport to Port Everglades are about $15-20 per car. See our list of Fort Lauderdale hotels with cruise port shuttles here. Cruise line transfers offer convenience, but we also find they can be expensive and restrictive. Many are only available on the day you cruise and the day you depart and only go from the airport to the cruise ship. If you’re flying in the day before, then a transfer from the cruise line won’t work. Uber/Lyft (Recommended) You can use Uber or Lyft to get to the port from the airport easily (see our guide here). Rates will actually be a little lower than a taxi, and most people prefer to use these rideshare services due to their lower cost and higher convenience.
Plus, the lots will have shuttles to take you right to the ship. So if you don’t need to park right at the ship and don’t mind an extra 10 minutes to get to the ship, you can save significantly. On-site parking is available at Port Everglades, with pricing at $15 USD per day for regular-sized vehicles and $19 for oversized vehicles.
